Rosemary peppermint hair oil

Let’s hair it for Rosemary! During the winter months, I tend to turn my focus away from using my herbs in the kitchen, and instead I start crafting herbal potions for body and home. One of my favorites to quickly make is Rosemary Peppermint Hair Oil. Rosemary is a wunderkind of an herb to use on your hair. It not only helps keep grays at bay, it gives curly hair all sorts of good love, aids in eliminating flakes, nourishes your scalp and adds instant gloss. What’s not to love!

Ingredients:

  • 1c Coconut Oil

  • 1c Olive Oil

  • 1/2c  Rosemary Leaves

  • 1/2c Peppermint Leaves

  • 1/2c Calendula Flowers

Combine all ingredients into a glass jar.

You can infuse you oil two different ways:

solar infusion — place jar on a sunny sill for 4-6 weeks, then strain and bottle.

immediate use — place all the ingredients in a double-boiler and slowly infuse for 4-6 hours over medium-low heat, then strain and bottle.

Use this hair oil as a pre-shampoo treatment, warming up and applying to hair for 5 minutes prior to shampooing. Or to help tame the frizzes. Or to protect your hair prior to blow-drying.

Store in a cool, dark place.

Keeps for 6 months.
